Sulphate.....

This weekend, I(We) watched Ishqiya, It was an invitation from Vivek to Me and K. and we obliged him by joining them. As usual, Vivek reached the GIP, Noida 5-7 minutes late and We were there, but as per standards reached just after our host were available there ;-) Anyway, we managed to take tickets and went inside to watch the movie (delayed by 15-20 minutes).

Movie is overall good...for rating you can always see TimeofIndia ratings..I thin it was *** star. The plot is of Eastern UP and the language they speak is mainly of Western UP (Merath, Muzafar nagar...), as usual it's Vishal Bhardwaj...who is actually not from eastern UP himself but he fancy a lot about Purvanchal. In previous movies also, he is interested in showing badly the bad things in the eastern UP social structure. In his films, 101% public is aware of Gundagardi and participate in it. That's Vishal Bhardwaj. In the movie, only true eastern UP language i.e. bhojpuri is spoken by either the old lady, whome the main characters ask for Varma ji or few children fighters, here and there.

Personally, I liked the story but the context setting has taken too much of time. till interval, there is nothing moving in the films and then suddenly too many things happening. Arshad and Naseer, both are good.....but Jijaji of Naseer is real good chap. His funny acting and the sattire he wear is funny. absurdity is natural in Vishal's movie and we expected it to be even more....Few things like Ch****am sulphate is good. In between, there are some other abuses but overall it's under control.

End of the movie might have been even better but Vishal seems to be inspired by Priyadarshan to great extent in previous few films....and end becomes a bit of bogus....I couldn't understand also what signify the Jijaji targetting three of them going away. Is he going to make another sulphate movie ??

BTW, Good to see once !! Great work by Vidya ! Good to see Arshad/Naseer and Jijaji ! The kid is also impressive with gun....but that's something Vishal should avoid from films....may be it's realty in some part of the eastern UP, but this way, it may end up kids handling more revolvers than school bags....Afterall, Vishal's movies are hyped due to obscenity, in language or some hot smooches/scenes and in eastern UP, there is no meaning at all of an "A" status. Mr Vishal, I request you to take care of it further in your movies !!!
